Tell Me About Angels

(Ed Du Bois)
Lyrics and Music by Ed Du Bois, September 25, 2005, Copyright 2006
This is my only song to date that I have written in the evening when I was tired and really not into it. It just came out real quickly. I liked the song very much and put together a recording of it that night.

Two things influenced this love lost song. One was a quote in the paper from Simon Weisenthal the hunter of Nazi war criminals who had just died. He told his friends that one thing that drove him to hunt down the Nazis was that when he died, went to heaven, and met his family, friends and fellow Nazi prison camp victims there, that he wanted to be able to tell them, "I didn't forget about you". This song is not in the same context by any means, but I liked the comment.

The other was from writings of Thomas Aquinas his questions about Angels and what they had and didn't have and what they did and didn't do. Deep stuff and not love lost, but I used it.
3/4 Time, no Capo chords D:G:D:G:A

1)
Tell me, do angels have hearts?
Tell me, can they be broken apart?
I must know if it is true,
Believe me, I didn't forget about you.

2
Tell me, do angels have tears?
Tell me, after all of these years,
I was wrong dear for being untrue,
But believe me, I didn't forget about you.

3
Tomorrow seems further away,
My dream's gone, couldn't get her to stay,
That angel had something to do,
But.. believe me, I didn't forget about you.

4
Tell me, do angels forget?
I remember, that day that we met?
Don't know dear, if you'd say that you do,
But believe me, I didn't forget about you.

5
Repeat #3.

6
Humm the verse.
