I have been looking around www.eddubois.com and really am impressed by the amazing content here. I work the nightshift at my job and it is so boring. I've been coming right here for the previous couple nights and reading. I just wanted to let you know that I've been enjoying what I've seen and I look forward to reading more.
Lovely music! I'm proud of another Red Raider! Keep singing your songs!

Good Luck!
Eddie,
Like a fine bottle of Zin, it keeps getting better with age. I want to wish you a very Happy Birthday!!! I hope you get to celebrate with the people that will contribute to your graceful yet exciting approach to having a good time. If I were with you on your birthday, I would put my best foot forward and be the catalyst to your great Birthday Party that would last the month of August!! I would cap it off with a Wild Game cook out at Bimini on your property looking back at Miami. Everybody you love would be there and I would do all the cooking. I would even sing Happy Birthday to you.
Carlee and I wish you a Happy Birthday!!!!!!

Not sure you remember me, I lived next door and was friends with Sheila & Louie on 59th St.
When I listened to you sing and some of the lyrics about your Mom, it remonded me of the many times she, Sheila and I would sit at the organ and sing Sentimental Journey ;-) haven't thought of that in years. When I saw Ed Dubois on Facebook assumed it was you, but it was your son. Gosh he looks like Louie. He gave me your website and I really enjoyed looking it over and the stories that went along with the song, nice touch.
Also, your comments about Terry Webster and David Lithgow, brings back memories.
Well Ed, great site. I can't believe I never heard you sing before ;-).

Very nice site. I enjoy your webcam the most. Beautiful scenery! Keep up the great work.

Dad,
I just listened to your songs again - it had been so long since I've listened to each one. I am sitting here laughing, crying and smiling - you are so talented and I am so proud!!!!! The Islands Cried really gets to me...love it! Of course, Jacqueline, Carolyn and Only Dancin' are my personal favorites.
I love you Dad.

know your busy, but some added news and pictures from bim bam boomani be voted for from here. the old, the knew, some water.
don't know if this adds cost to you at sight; but if not...well everyone as in the old days of volkswagens>
Well, I said that one day we would see your name In The Lights, just like Johnny Be Good. Friday night at 10:00 PM on June 5th,2008, I did see you, now a Television Celebrety, kicking off the Premier of The Rich and The Reckless on the TRU Network.
You had me fooled. I thought you were losing weight to improve your health. Now I know the real reason, to better jumpstart your acting career.
You were great!! I was so proud of you!! I was not able to pick out any of your music in the background. You are going to have hire an Agent. There is no telling what an impact this will have on your business. Everything about this is so positive.
Congratulations. Let me know how your boat did in Bimini. Did you catch some fish?
Your Friend,
Bobby Grove
Nice job Ed. It's amazing that you can work with someone as we have over the last 8 or 9 years and know so little about them. An amazing life you've had, continue to have and are still to experience. More great songs to come also I hope.
By the way Ed, my first car was a 1957 Chevy Bel Air, 283 HP, powerglide tranny. Still the best car ever made.
Your friend Don.
I liked your site.
D9CTAO Hello! I'm Samuel Smith, i'm from Switqerland i and find your site really brilliant!
Ed, received the email, via Pat O'D., via Lee H., re upcoming truTV show about the Sun Gym Gang, and came to your website from there. Great site - have enjoyed the photos, recaps/updates, and the music. You have certainly created a successful and very interesting life for yourself! It was fun being brought up to date, although I was sad to learn about Sissy.
Best to you, Carla W.
I love Bimini,
Thanks for the memories !
NB.
Just googled your name after spending time with you this weekend at the wedding of Phil and Lucy and it brought me to this website. What a great person you are Ed. We are lucky to have you in our family.
It was a great weekend and it was fun to see everyone and it was also bittersweet to go to the Leu road house and know that would be the last gathering there.
I look forward to hopefully adding to some memories in Bimini. I will see if I can squeeze away soon and pick you up in the cherokee.
God Bless you.
Louie

in here poking around and found it a good thing that you looked old max up.
last time i saw max i think was about 1965 at the q and cushion pool hall.....think cravero was at the next pool table at the time....
well i guess that old german canadian found his way home...

Wow! I had no idea nor memory of your talent. Well, you were not bad
at playing the clarinet but you are a good writer and singer. We all enjoyed your songs. I am no critic but there were a couple I thought were excellent. I want to play them again because one play does not give full appreciation. Dawnais liked them very much. She is trying to learn how to sing and use her voice. This is important therapy. She started humming along with you as she found the tempo very much to her liking. This is a big, big deal. The Cd's will get worn out in no time. What a wonderful Christmas present! Thank you, from all of us.
Your sense of humour was reccognized. After all that has happened it was good to hear. I am not about to say which song is my favourite but the one you wrote about your granddaughter "Only Dancing" will rank up near the top. I also liked "Zinfandel" a lot. This is real good music and just happens to be my kind of music too. By the way, have you ever listened to K.T. Turnstall? If not, check her out on You Tube. I know you will like her. She is a one man band, very talented.
I will go now. Happy new year from Canada and may it bring great fulfilment and happiness. Max and family.
this is a good site to have a look
great tunes eddie , i will play them everytime im home in port royale , south bimini
Ed
It seems I have two choices with your music, sit back, chill out with a beer or glass of wine and enjoy the pleasant sounds or listen to the lyrics that are actually meaningful (unusual in this day and age).
Thanks for friendship, your professionalism and your music, which you can now proudly say is played in England.
Keep in touch.
Dave & Pat
Googled my name and came up with yours. How ironic we are both musicians. I live in Boulder Colorado,USA and sometimes play with a band called Cowboy Calypso.
I guess the string theory is right on?
Eddie,
I am sorry that I did not call to wish you Happy Birthday. Happy Birthday from Carlee and myself. You are probally over in Bimini recording more music and having fun. Sometimes I think about selling out and doing the same thing you are. My time will come.
Happy Birthday,
Your Friend Bobby Grove
UOJTBc with site! such on a Great work. Go good Hi! ,
great web site eddie....enjoy your time in the islands. keep in touch with us. jack and mary ulmer
it is my opinion that mr. duBois has had an unrealized epephany of enlightenment that has carried through to his remarkable ability to translate lifes everyday happenings into wonderous melodies that can be enjoyed by others. lets hope that ed stays with us for some time to come to see what else unfolds in his endeavors of walking the path of life.
spent the 4th with lazenby and lew jack you should have been a countrywestern singer.i like my zenfendell the best. also met partrick oneal at a party with his wife and sister jane keep singing and writing you will be famous some day
eddie, all I can do is apologize for not taking the time in the past to go through your amazing website. turned out to be a truly impressive tribute to you, your family, your life and your unique musical talent.
tres bien fait mon ami, comme dit notre ami John Tate si souvent. toi, tu es benie.
An honor to have song #6 written about my mother Odessa. The song will forever be a memory to me of our families commingled past because it was written by you. God Bless and live long Big Ed. See you soon.
good seeing you in jupiter, bad setting but part of life. i enjoyed your cd's and the stories behind them. keep up the good work.
mike
Edgeward,
It seems you've moved up a notch or two since my friend and I spent a couple of days on your beautiful houseboat. I think that is the main reason she and I aren't still together, she hasn't been able to stand upright since then either. We go back a long way. We had some pretty wild times in pilot training and I never will forget the out and back we had in Maimi.
Really do enjoy the CD's. Who'd a thunk it? Good job my man. Hope to see you in Alaska or Panama.
Wheels
Sat on my boat in Cayman, listening to your music and having a cold beer. What a combination. You music is like an island style Bob Dillan. Love it!
Hey great tunes!!!! Told you I'd check the site out. Definitely impressed.
These songs are smokin' hot. All of my friends want to move to Bimini or any island and sit back and turn on your soothing and haunting voice. The island love beckons.
Ed Dubois Recording Artist, CD Baby.com
I can't believe it!! Eddie finaly got his name " In The Lights ". Just like Johnny Be Good. I met Eddie Dubois during his tenure with life's crunch time. My wife, Carlee, and I had met Sissy Dubois as a Realtor who was kind enough to help us with our move from North Augusta, South Carolina to Miami Shores, Florida in 1983. Sissy helped us secure a Condo on 105th. Street in The Shores. How lucky could two South Carolinians get? Meeting Sissy Dubois and have her introduce us to all of her family and friends. She was a very special friend.
The first time I met Eddie, Carlee and I were in Sissy's office. Eddie rides up on a motorcycle, comes in the office and before Sissy can introduce us, he hands Sissy a fistfull of folding money and comments that it was all there. Sissy introduced Eddie and off he went on his motorcycle.
Eddie Dubois and I became best of friends. I could write a book of short stories about the times we had together. Maybe one day, these stories will start flowing out of me like Eddie's songs started flowing out of him.
When I listen to your CD's, I am usually in my vehicle by myself, but not really. Thank you Eddie, I have not picked my favorite CD, but I will.
I wonder if Crazy Frank in Spanish Wells is playing one of your CD's as you read my thoughts?
Eddie, if and when you really ever open up, we will all be in for a ride of a lifetime. The titles of your songs will read like One Yellow Bird Too Many, Bimini Blues, Flying with Pros, Fish til You Drop, Dancing From Boat to Boat, Standing Up to The Threat, From Duck Key to Bimini, Waking Up and Run Aground, Proud as a Turkey, Shirt Torn by a Buck, Bimini Becks, Don't Kill Him Try and Take My Arm, Lobster Dinner with Crazy Frank, $100.00 Bet Florida State VS South Carolina,1984, Indian Creek Weddings, just to name a few. I could go on and on. Eddie you are a very lucky man. How about my favorite CD by you one day will be titled " Married to a Good Looking Woman". Man, I got to go, my Mom and Dad are visiting Carlee and I in Southport, North Carolina. You know, when I am asked the question " Where did you learn to fish?", I answer " In Bimini and I was tought by Eddie Dubois ".
Thanks Eddie.
Your Friend,
Bobby Grove
Hi Papa,
i love you! Call me and I'll tell you the address of my new blog.
:-)
Quite enjoyable. Very heartfelt listening experience.
SINCE MEETING YOU IN 1964 WE HAVE GONE THROUGH A LOT TOGETHER BOTH GOOD AND BAD. YOU, SISSY, CHRISTY, EDDIE, AND KIM WERE AS MUCH A FAMILY TO ME AS I HAVE EXPERIENCED.
AGAIN WITH YOUR SONG/MUSIC WRITING AND SINGING TALENT I CANNOT IMAGINE WHY YOU WORKED AS HARD AS WE DID ALL THOSE YEARS AS A GUMSHOE. MANY BLESSINGS IN THE FUTURE.
ed, you are a star.[smile] truly enjoyed checking out you web. it was really nice seeing your family as well as you and your beautiful wife after all if these years. that was the first time i
had ever seen sissy. she is always on mind and in my heart, as you and i talked very much. Keep it up my brother as you can hire me as your velet, haha. i think about bimni as my friends from there. dorie knowles who i saw in fort lauuderdale is about to pass
any day now from cancer. I'm going to ask her daughters from bimini if they know some of the names you mention in your songs. keep up the good work. it is out of sight and well prepaired my brother. i may see you on tv.[smile] be blessed ed and keep on pushing.
Please write a song about me ed! tell the world how you worked for almost 20 years to get me john f tate out of jail for a crime that i did not committ. and also my brother tell the world that you did it for no money just as my firiend and as a good human being. i will never forget the bar b que lunch you and your office threw for me after I got out of prison and the job you got for me when no one would trust a man just out of prison even though i was truly innocent! i will never forget that you came to see me in those prisons, how you and you wife and children talked to me on the telephone every week and the cards and letters that sissy and your kids sent me all those years in prison. it helped give me hope that some day i would overcome and be free.
now free from exile (prison) i almost have my life back. even though i am the hardest working man anyone has ever given a job to, just ask all the prison wardens i worked for, ain't that right ed? i am fired as soon as they find my record. a record for a crime that i did not commit. no one but you and me and my family know how that arrest and jail time hurt this innocent man john tate for the rest of his life!! :(
john

I love the photo's brother and especially the sunset. I have some fun memories of Nassau and Georgetown, Bahamas. But nothing close to yours my friend. Wadie
I sampled all your songs and I enjoyed them on the first play. You have style and class with Bimini as your home away from home. A live concert in Bimini is just around the corner. Wadie
Ed: Thanks for your recent e-mail and your web site address. As an "Island Person" Bimini has always been one of my favorites. As you know I own a home on Eleuthera which you have visited. looking forward to fishing and listening to your CD's with you soon in Bimini. Cheers ! Ed Granberry, Jr.
ED,
YOUR SITE IS GREAT, WITH ALL OF YOUR SONGS, PHOTOS, BUT NO PHOTOS OF ME, HA, HA, THE RICH HISTORY OF BIMINI AND CHARACTERS. I LOVE THE CD'S. I PLAY THEM OFTEN. MAKES ME THANK OF ALL THE GOOD TIMES WE HAVE HAD GOING TO BIMINI WITH YOU AND SISSY AND NOW YOU AND EDDIE. I HOPE THE TRIPS NEVER STOP....KAYE LOVED GOING TO BIMINI AND OF COURSE FISHING (HER ABSOLUTE LOVE, I LIKE TO THINK BESIDES ME) AND HER LAST FISHING TRIP WAS THERE. I HOPE THE GOOD TIMES CONTINUE TO ROLL AND YOU KEEP WRITING SONGS. YOU HAVE A MENTAL LIST OF BIMINI CHARACTERS THAT IS NEVER ENDING AND THEY ALL LOVE YOU. I'VE HAD THE GOOD FORTUNE OF MEETING MOST OF THEM. YOUR HOUSE NEEDS TO SET ON YOUR LOT OVER LOOKING THE INLET ENTRANCE TO ALICE TOWN TO MAKE ALL OF THIS COMPLETE AND ALSO SO YOU CAN KEEP AND EYE ON SAHARA.
ED, GREAT JOB, THE WED SITE IS VERY IMPRESSIVE.
ROBERT
I just ordered the bimini CD...it's always amazing to me what beautiful things can come from heartache, tradgey, sorrow and grief...looking forward to hearing more of your music Ed
Loved the pictue of Sissy. She was one of a kind and only became more beautiful and considerate as each year passed. I look forward to hearing all of the songs. Hope to see you when I am in Miami. I think I will be down in May and June for short business trips.
I must say that I was captvated by you song about Geronimo, True American Hero. I am a German National and I was in Miami to tour the indian villages in the everglades. I do not know if you are aware of the tremendous interest many Germans have in your indian history in the US, but we love it. I heard the song playing at the airport and had to have it. I now have my own copy of both of your albums and my family and I are fighting over them. Thanks for topping off this great trip to the US for us!
Ed Dubois, I just posted these reviews on the CDBaby website and I wanted to share them with you in your Guest Book.
My father fist took me to Bimini when I was a child in the 1950's and I fell in love with Bimini and the Bahamas. I now live full time in Bimini and love the island and music. Your CD The Islands Cried blew me away. It epitomizes island life style. Your tribute songs on this album The Islands Cried about the Chalks crash and The Compleat Angler brings tears to my eyes everytime I play them. I can't believe The Compleat Angler burned to the ground and that we lost Julian Brown. Thanks, Ed DuBois for the great CD, all nine songs are the best! I also have your other CD Bimini Bay, but am going to save my comment on that for the Bimini Bay review section. I can hardly wait for the release of album three. Keep up the great work.
Dear Ed DuBois: I just wrote my review for your The Islands Cried CD and I just had to add my two cents for the Bimini Bay CD. Since I bought both CDs, my two cents is worth millions, that is how much I love them. I do not know who CD Baby is, but they are the best. I placed the order on the website and within a few days, they were in my mail box, great! I live at the edge of Bimini Bay very close to the Bimini Bay resort so this CD made me feel like you were singing to me about my home. Your lyrics and melodies are truly a refreshing relief in this age of urban rap, thanks. I would love to comment on all nine songs individually, but I do not have the room. Needless to say, I loved them all. The songs are all so touching about life and people. I loved My Zinfandel too and, being a woman, I just loved your fantasy about a woman and your bottle of Red Zin. Cheers Ed DuBois, your are the best. Give us more - we are waiting!
Really impressed
We are so proud of you, Papa! There isn't a day that goes by that JKF doesn't ask to hear 'Papa's songs'. You've given us such a gift of a lifetime...your music from your heart.
We love you.
XOX
Ed:
Hope all is well.
Terrific website - enjoyed it very much.
I like your style. I think you should try to package your outlook on life together with your beautiful and haunting music; you have what most people dream about; and the beautiful part is: you know it and really appreciate it! No wonder your music has such feel to it.
I'm very pleased that you liked my work - that was the important thing to me. And thanks for the plug.
Ed, I wish you, Crowbar and Eshelean good fortune and hope you sell a lot of CDs - but somehow, I think you have already found a good many riches.
Best regards,
Al LaBanca

Hello Ed,
I just wanted you to know it was great seeing you and spending time with your family a couple weekends ago in Miami. I'm sorry you weren't feeling well and I didn't have the opportunity to listen to you sing in person. I look forward to the next visit and hopefully catching up. Kimmy and I will have to schedule a session to listen to you and maybe sing a little myself.
Hope all is well and you are enjoying the sunny days!

Ed,
I really have enjoyed surfing your website! How about I organize a jam session for you, Crowbar and Eschelon at Lee and Ricks? By the way, how'd you get Crowbar to pose as Geronimo in that picture?
John
Love your site and your music! Keep up the island vibe!
I heard 2 of the performances LLLIIIVVVVEEE
Ed, Love your site and the photos too. Your music is very touching, alot of feelings and emotions have been put into all your songs. Keep up the good work and don't forget us "little people" when you hit it big :).
Great Tunes
This site is wonderful! Love the story on the home page. I am absolutely your biggest fan! Your music is inspirational and touches me every time I hear it.
Add more photos to the webpage!
Keep on rocking Papa!
Ed,
Well hello, here I am writing as promised after listening to both CD's shared with me during lunch last week. I listened to them on my way back to work at Disney and again the following few days. I found myself looking simultaneously at the CD insert with the words to your beautiful music. The music you write is compelling and each with such meaning. My favorite is still "Papa I'm only Dancing" but truthfully I like every one. Music with a message is rarely seen and I feel as though your music really has something to tell. Thank you so much for sharing it with me.
AND, thank you for sharing your wonderful family with me. I have never had a better friend than I have in Kimmy and I am thankful to have the rest of your family in my life as well. What an incredible influence both you and Sissy have had on them.
I hope to see you soon. I believe Kimmy and I will be coming down the last weekend in January for Christy's birthday party.

I have read your entire web page. What a wonderful piece of work. I really enjoyed the whole experience. Knowing you the way I do, made the experience special.
